Description :

ECTS (European Credits Transfer System) is a points system developed by the European Union to facilitate the reading and comparison of study programs in different European countries. This system enables points to be allocated to all the components of a study program, based on the workload to be completed by the student. This makes national curricula easier to understand at European level, and is a complementary tool to the Diploma Supplement, facilitating mobility from one country to another and from one institution to another.

The introduction of ECTS stems primarily from the desire of the Kyrgyz education system to become an active participant in the global market for educational services. To gain recognition, the education system had to make the transition to the European model, which represents a multi-level system. This raises the question of the coherence of levels, the correspondence of programs and the conditions for student mobility. The solution to these problems lies in the different variants of the credit system. A second reason for this implementation is its contribution to student mobility.

During the project, the ECTS application guide was drawn up. This explains the principles of ECTS and gives recommendations for drawing up study plans.
