The Institute for Social Studies (IES) is an organization authorized by the Ministry of Labor to provide training to employee representatives as part of economic and social training leave. It is also authorized to provide training for CSE staff representatives (SSCT, eco, VSS training, etc.).
Created in 1958, it is part of the Grenoble Faculty of Economics (FEG) within theUniversité Grenoble Alpes UGA). It is also a member of the National Network of Labor Institutes, alongside 10 other university institutes. The Grenoble Institute of Labor is managed by a board of directors composed of academics, professionals, and representatives of the CFDT, CGT, and CGT-FO unions. The IES also organizes conferences and study days on issues related to labor and trade unionism.
