Access to training via VAPP (Validation des Acquis Personnels et Professionnels)

The VAPP enables people who do not have the required qualifications to access training by validating their professional experience, training courses and personal achievements.

The following may give rise to validation: studies (initial or continuing training), foreign qualifications or diplomas, professional experience acquired during a salaried or self-employed activity or an internship, knowledge and skills acquired outside any training system.

What are the requirements?

  • Be over 20 years of age on the planned date of resumption of studies
  • If you do not have a baccalauréat, you must have interrupted your initial training for at least 2 years.
  • Demonstrate the personal and professional skills required to follow the training course.
  • If you are unsuccessful in your course of study, integrated through the VAPP procedure, you need to provide proof of 3 years' interruption before you can reapply.

Your VAPP application is processed in the following stages:

Step 1: PREPARING THE VAPP FILE

  • Download and complete the VAPP application form, presenting the content of your professional and personal experience and studies, together with the necessary supporting documents.
  • The file must be submitted at the same time as your application. If you are applying via the eCandidat platform, the application must be submitted in PDF format.

Stage 2: VAPP APPLICATION REVIEW

The application is examined by a pedagogical commission, which proposes the exemption to be granted to the school president.

Step 3: VALIDATION RESULT

You are informed of the validation result:
  • You may be granted access to the training program with or without a waiver, in which case you must register with the university and sign a training contract or agreement.
  • Either you are refused access to the training course, and may be offered counter-proposals.
The validation decision is valid only at the university that granted it and for the academic year for which it is requested.
