Foreign language training at Grenoble's Faculty of Economics

The Grenoble School of Economics has a three-pronged language policy:

  • the teaching of specialist English in virtually all courses, from the first year of the bachelor's degree to doctoral studies, both in-class and by distance learning (more information on the first language in courses);
  • promoting the practice of a second modern language: you can take courses and have them validated as part of your training (more information on second languages in training courses);
  • the option of taking subject-specific courses in English from the third year of the degree, and studying abroad to improve your language skills.
This policy is being developed in the context of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) developed by the Council of Europe. This framework identifies six levels foreign language learning skills.

To find out your language skills according to the CEFR, you can take the test online dialang . This free test enables you to assess your language skills (listening comprehension, written expression, mastery of grammatical structures in the test; other skills taken into account in the self-assessment grid) in fourteen different languages.

If you would like to have your level of English proficiency certified, you can obtain certifications. TOEIC Listening & Reading, Speaking & Writing and TOEFL sessions are organized throughout the year at the school. language service. Please note: the number of places for each session is limited. The language department of the Faculty of Economics offers TOEIC preparation courses. You can register with the school administrators (limited number of places).
